estimate electrum transaction fee, on electrum

Users of cryptocurrencies Wallet Electrum and MyEtherWallet are facing phishing attacks, according to posts posted on Reddit and Twitter on February 4. The MyEtherWallet team has issued a warning about phishing emails sent to users. Electrum also posted a warning on its website informing users that the electrum version, which predies 3.3.3, is vulnerable to phishing attacks. The company warned its users not to download software updates from other sources. (Cointelegraph)

The electrum and Electrum-LTC versions below 3.3.3 are vulnerable to phishing attacks in which a malicious server displays a message asking the user to download the fake Electrum. To prevent user exposure, versions older than 3.3 can no longer connect to public servers and must be upgraded. Do not download software updates from sources other than electrum.org and electrum-ltc.org.

Lesson 1: Third-party Electrum servers can link your two transactions together. This can be avoided by running your own Electrum server, supported by your own full node.

The solution uses VeChain ToolChain, a technology company's blockchain-as-a-service (BAAS) solution. Chain-only is a public blockchain, so transaction fees are charged. When patients arrive, it is impractical for companies to pay transaction fees. Therefore, the chain has a fee delegation process in which they can assign someone else to pay for the transaction on their behalf. As a result, hospitals may estimate 1,000 visits and increase account costs accordingly.

This step is relatively simple, only need to download and install the Electrum wallet on another Internet-connected computer.

At the time of writing, at least 1,450 BTCs worth about $11.6 million had been stolen from phishing attacks that faked Electrum upgrade tips. DeViable Security Labs hereby suggests that versions of Electrum below 3.3.4 are vulnerable to such phishing attacks, and users using Electrum Wallet are requested to update to the latest version of Electrum 3.3.8 via the official website (electrum.org), which has not yet been officially released, and do not use the link in the prompt to avoid asset losses.

When a withdrawal is initiated from a cold wallet address, we make an initial cost estimate and use the gas station service to send a 10x estimate to that address, and when we build a withdrawal (parent) transaction, we add an output to move the pre-charged 10x charge to a special charge address (which is generated for each withdrawal and is used only once). Let's call this output CFP link. Once the master transaction is signed at the end of the key recovery ceremony and before the broadcast, the fee will be re-estimated based on current network conditions. The fee address generates a sub-transaction that costs the CPFP link output, pays for both transactions, and sends the remaining pre-charge charge back to the gas station.

Although gas fee is now within acceptable limits for large businesses with a single transaction volume of more than $10,000, if the annual return exceeds 15%. But for retail investors, the average person can accept a transaction fee of about $2 per transaction, according to a survey by ARPA. Hard-to-estimate yields have also put the vast majority of retail investors off. This greatly limits the freedom of financial flows.

A new repo qtum-electrum-new has been built to add qtum-related features to the latest code for Bitcoin electrum.

Multi-signal: Electrum accepts multi-signature trades. Multiple wallets are required to sign the transaction before it can be approved.

On December 27, Reddit user u/normal_rc reported that Electrum's wallet had been hacked and that nearly 250 bitcoins (243.6 BTCs, nearly $1 million) had been maliciously stolen, coinelegraph reported. Electrum then confirmed that the attack included creating a fake version of the wallet to trick users into providing password information. Electrum responded on Twitter that "this is a persistent phishing attack on Electrum users" and warned users not to download Electrum from any source other than the official website.

Electrum Technologies runs a central server to facilitate these exchanges for a fee. This allows users to purchase incoming capacity to receive lightning payments. The developer added.
